Attorney Albert A. Altamore has been a resident of Rockford the majority of his life. He attended Keith Country Day School and went on to pursue his undergraduate degree at Rockford College, where he graduated in 1978. Attorney Altamore graduated with his juris doctorate degree in 1982 from The John Marshall Law School in Chicago, Illinois. After graduating from law school, Attorney Altamore was employed by the Winnebago County State's Attorneys' Office - Juvenile Division. He left that position to work at a local law office where he was made partner. Throughout his education and early legal career, he continued to work at his parents' restaurant, Paesano's Italian Ristorante, until they retired in 2002.
Attorney Altamore has had numerous distinctions throughout his career. He was elected to the Boone County Board in 1988, where he served as Vice-Chairman as well as Chairman of the Finance Committee. He served as a member until 2000. He was awarded the "Young American" award by the Rockford Register Star in 1982. Albert A. Altamore & Associates, P.C. has been voted "What Rocks - Best Traffic Attorney (Rockford Register Star)" in the Rockford area in 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017.
Attorney Altamore established the law office of Attorney Albert A. Altamore & Associates, P.C. in 1995 and soon became a pre-eminent attorney in the areas of felony, misdemeanor, traffic and DUI defense, as well as representation at Secretary of State administrative hearings for driver's license reinstatement. As his practice grew, he began to staff his office with associates who have had prior experience as assistant public defenders and assistant prosecutors so they have the tools and experience necessary to provide the best possible defense to all of his clients. His associates all have successful trial experience and are always prepared to proceed to a bench trial or jury trial.
Attorney Altamore takes great pride in his personal involvement in each and every client's defense. He treats each individual client with respect and considers no case "too small" or " too insignificant". He is most proud of his reputation - no advertising is necessary as word of mouth is his biggest asset.
